In 2019 and early 2020, we established a partnership with Wild Health, another precision medicine clinic, to develop strategies on bringing precision medicine services to the primary care space. The COVID pandemic hit soon after this partnership, which shifted our focus to caring for our patients, community, and clinic. Over the next few years, our clinic and Wild Health grew along two separate paths: Wild Health focused on an online platform without insurance and us wanting to keep a physical space to see patients in our clinic and maintain use of insurance when possible. Wild Health recently sold their company to a public group, and we decided that it was time to end our partnership and focus more on the future direction of our clinic.
Therefore, we will need to rebrand our clinic. We understand the confusion and frustration that rebranding can cause and are somewhat frustrated ourselves. It takes time for a new name to permeate into the community, which was working really well with Wild Health Asheville. But we see this as a benefit as we continue to shape our clinic into one that not only provides excellent primary care but that offers deeper engagement with patients when it comes to their health.
Whether or not you participate in precision medicine, all of our patients are still cared for by a team that takes your health seriously and champions holistic approaches in our recommendations.
We wanted our new brand to reflect the values we hold dear as a clinic: practicing medicine in a holistic and personalized way; operating as an independent clinic despite, free from pressures of a hospital systems; and the ability to cultivate genuine, authentic relationships with our patients over years.
We are excited to announce that our new name going forward will be Authentic Health Family Care and Precision Medicine. Many of our longterm patients will recognize that the name Authentic Health comes from Dr. Vickery’s first book. We love this name, not only because it reflects our desire to be authentic and intentional with our patients but also because it cements Dr. Vickery’s legacy, who has worked so hard at creating this clinic and building it to what we have today. He continues to be a great leader and mentor for us while also continuing to serve many through his deeper precision medicine program.
Over the coming weeks, you’ll see new signage, our new brand on documents, and a new greeting when you call our office. Otherwise, nothing else will change: same staff, same clinicians, same level of care and trust you’ve come to expect with our clinic.
Thank you so much for the support you have given us as patients and are are deeply appreciative of the opportunity to care for you and your family’s health in a truly authentic way.
