On 1/18/21, Buncombe County Health and Human Services (BCHHS) announced that they will expand their current COVID19 vaccine criteria to include citizens 65 years and older + healthcare workers. Although no specific date has been set, their announcement seems like it’ll go live this week or next.
Most importantly, they are setting up a wait list for patients to sign up. It should go live by the end of the week.
How to sign up for the wait list:

Unfortunately, we still have a very short supply of vaccines compared to the number of people that need it.
There is no way our office can offer you a higher priority for a vaccine based on underlying health risks.
Also, it is still unclear if our office would be able to carry the COVID19 vaccine and administer it to our patients. We are currently looking into these options but suspect this would not be able to happen for another few months.
My assumption is that major pharmacies would first have access to vaccine supply before individual medical practices. If you have any questions regarding the vaccine, please go to our website and read our previous blog posts.
Feel free to ask about it at your next visit, as well! (contact us to schedule)
